Responsibilities:

•Promotes safety and compliance
•Drives diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination, usually long distances, to transport and off-load compressed gases to customers or to storage sites in a timely, accurate, and courteous manner
•Drives safely and efficiently in hazardous road conditions and utilizes his/her common sense and experience to assess the safety of road conditions and discontinues a trip when weather or road conditions warrant
•Assesses the condition of the customer’s delivery environment and makes decision not to off-load product if conditions are unfavorable
•Follows all zone, local, and corporate policies and procedures, which includes Air Liquide America regulations, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, safety policies, etc.
•Applies knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations, such as narrow passageways
•Strives to meet customer expectations without exception and achieves highly positive customer satisfaction survey results consistent with strategic objectives
•Reports any customer complaints to include run-outs
•Reports all accidents, possible injuries, and driving citations immediately to their supervisor
•Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and identifies any maintenance action that may be required on transporting vehicles and acts appropriately if action is needed
•Works cooperatively with his supervisor and distribution staff to ensure prompt and accurate delivery
•Uses company required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
•Completes and submits reports as required by the DOT and/or company policy
•Exercises care with hand-held equipment and ensures accuracy of data
•Adheres to work schedule
•Maintains good personal hygiene

Requirements:

•No felonies on record
•High School diploma
•Must be at least 25 years of age
•Three or more years prior experience as driver of tractor - trailer vehicles. Candidates with two years plus other relevant commercial driving experience or driving school will be considered.
•Must possess all applicable Haz-Mat (Hazardous Materials) endorsements
•Product knowledge of cryogenic, compressed and specialty gases helpful but not necessary.
•Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license for state of domicile.

-Follow through on instruction
-Work with minimal supervision
-Use required computer/telephone applications
