Responsibilities:

Operations
•Promotes safety and compliance
•Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination, usually long distances, to transport and off-load compressed gases to customers or to storage sites in a timely, accurate, and courteous manner
•Drives safely and efficiently in hazardous road conditions and utilizes his/her common sense and experience to assess the safety of road conditions and discontinues a trip when weather or road conditions warrant
•Assesses the condition of the customer’s delivery environment and makes decision not to off-load product if conditions are unfavorable
•Follows all zone, local, and corporate policies and procedures, which includes Air Liquide America regulations, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, safety policies, etc.
•Applies knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations, such as narrow passageways
•Strives to meet customer expectations without exception and achieves highly positive customer satisfaction survey results consistent with strategic objectives
•Reports any customer complaints to include run-outs
•Reports all accidents, possible injuries, and driving citations immediately to their supervisor
•Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and identifies any maintenance action that may be required on transporting vehicles and acts appropriately if action is needed
•Works cooperatively with his supervisor and distribution staff to ensure prompt and accurate delivery
•Uses company required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
•Completes and submits reports as required by the DOT and/or company policy
•Exercises care with hand-held equipment and ensures accuracy of data
•Adheres to work schedule
•Maintains good personal hygiene

Accountabilities:

Safety:
•Zero vehicle accidents and/or injuries
•Attend all safety training classes
•Attend monthly safety meetings
•Comply with all safety policies and DOT regulations
•Maintains good personal hygiene

Operations:
•Improves operations regarding distribution efficiency, teamwork with the distribution team, accuracy of the paperwork, and support the customer at the customer site on a continuing basis
•Ensure all ALAC policies and procedures are followed
•Use equipment per design recommendations

Customer Satisfaction:
•Provide on-time deliveries
•Professional appearance to include full uniform
•Courteous to customers at all times
•Immediately report all customer complaints, to include run-outs
•Ensure all customer delivery tickets are accurate, signed, and provided to the customer

Employee Development:
•Strive to increase knowledge of Air Liquide’s products and services
•Improve familiarity of customer installations and equipment
•Improve skills on driving and operation of delivery equipment

Requirements:

Employee Qualifications / Requirements:

•No felonies on record
•High School diploma
•Must be at least 25 years of age
•Three or more years prior experience as driver of tanker trailer vehicles
•Must possess all applicable Haz-Mat (Hazardous Materials) endorsements
•Product knowledge of compressed and specialty gases
•Must possess working knowledge of truck mechanics
•Must possess a valid Class I driver’s license for state of domicile. DMV records cannot exceed seven points in the last three years for all states in which the driver has driven (no more than three safety infractions in a three-year period)
•Demonstrated ability to:
-Follow through on instruction
-Work with minimal supervision
-Use required computer/telephone applications
•Successful completion and passing of DOT written regulations and road tests
•Working knowledge of up-to-date DOT regulations

Physical Requirements:
•Heavy Work
•Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
•Exerting up to 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a greater than negligible amount of force routinely
•Must be able to perform all functions which includes pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls
•Must pass DOT physical to include back x-ray, hearing test and drug screen
