Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

-Repair and maintain all plant machinery as identified in computerized maintenance management system.

-Complete PM’s as required in computerized maintenance management system.

-Document work performed in computerized maintenance management system.

-Troubleshoot plant equipment issues.

-Coordinate vendor activities as needed to maintain plant facility, including writing
purchase requests and Safe Work Permits.

-Maintain spare parts inventory and safety equipment.

-Respond to maintenance work requests as identified in computerized maintenance management system.

-Design, fabricate and install plant equipment.

-Maintain and inspect cranes and forklifts.

-Train production technicians on use of forklifts.

-Alternate call with other maintenance technicians. During call, carry a pager 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and be readily available to go to plant as needed.

-Communicate proper equipment use to production technicians.

-Log maintenance activities that affect plant operations in the operations log books.

-Perform housekeeping duties in work area and shop.

-Assist plant electrician as required.

-Provide assistance at other Air Liquide plants or customer sites as needed.

-Report plant and equipment abnormalities to plant manager.

-Report safety incidents and near misses to plant manager.

-Perform job functions in a manner that meets or exceeds the company’s HSE standards.

Requirements:

Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise

-Skills in welding, pipe fitting or machine repair.

-Operation of shop machinery.

-Basic mechanical aptitude.

-Good communication skills.

Other Requirements

-Ability to perform duties at elevated heights of up to 100 ft.

-Ability to carry a weight of 100 lbs.

-Dexterity and proficiency in the use of power and hand tools.

Educational Requirements

-High School Diploma or equivalent
