Production Technician

Responsibilities:

Plant Operator to work rotating shift at the Coatesville, PA Air Separation Unit (A450/L340).

-Meets or exceeds the company’s safety goals, standards and policies
-Fully supports, accurately completes, maintains, and instills corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental policies & procedures and relevant documentation at the facility in operating and maintaining responsibility for a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly facility

• Actively demonstrates identified acquiring skill sets in daily operational duties, in addition
-Actively is pursing owns growth and career development through self-initiative practices and working with resources made available as coordinated with supervisor
-Participates in operational and routine maintenance tasks within facility work group without interruption of customer product deliveries
-Fosters open communication amongst all facility technicians in relation to best practices, operational or Facility needs, safety issues or concerns, conflicts of interest between shifts or other departments, and sharing operational knowledge and expertise with all other Technicians

•Assists and works closely with Mastering Technician with daily facility needs including
-Administrative function responsibilities as delegated by shift supervisor
-Facility record keeping and documentation
-CMMS input and work order generation
-Studying and maintaining site-specific Standard Operating Procedures, P&ID’s, PFD’s, and all other technical documentation as relates to operational or equipment processes
-Innovations and improvement project involvement
-Generating initial documentation for on-site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors site-specific training needs
-Escorting on-site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors throughout facility as needed
-Active participation in facility safety meetings and inspections
-Facility Operations and Customer Relations Development
-Loading and unloading cryogenic transports as necessary

•Shift Coverage and Rotation
-Follows policies and procedures on proper notification procedures for vacation scheduling, floating holidays, and personal days off
-24/7 on call and pager response
-Fills in for vacations and emergency shift relief coverage as situations warrant

Requirements:

•Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise
-Demonstrates an overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies & procedures
-Instills safety in others, by being safety minded and modeling good safety practices
-Works safely in all situations
-Performs all work in compliance with Standard Operating and Maintenance Procedures, utilizing current LST skills and safety requirements including, safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDL’s, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.
-Ensures that contractors, visitors, co-workers, and others comply with National Safety Policies and Procedures
-Demonstrates ability to communicate with both written and spoken English at the 12th grade level
-Is acquiring knowledge and ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment
-Exhibits understanding of governmental regulations including environmental permitting and compliance, loading /quality assurance, basic electricity, National & Local Operating Procedures, CMMS and maintenance management process, and All HSE issues associated with the facility
-Ensures accurate and complete information in maintenance Work Orders
-Conducts acceptance test/start-up reviews with Operations & Maintenance
Exhibits mechanical ability
-Demonstrates the ability to learn and follow- National & Local Standard Operating Procedures, follow through on instructions, work with minimal supervision, perform light and routine maintenance, read blueprints, read flow charts, read process piping ISO’s, read simple schematics, interpret P & ID’s, read and interpret electrical schematics, perform basic math operations, calibrate all plant process analytical equipment and keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures
-Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of control board and operating off of operator interface consoles (computer)
-Identifies potential needs and enters them into CMMS
-Determines if immediate maintenance action is required, documents it, and reports to appropriate personnel
-Demonstrates basic computer (PC) skills and ability to use required software computer applications
-Experience with Foxboro, WonderWare, and instrumentation a plus

•Physical Requirements
-Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
-Must be able to lift 50lbs

•Education and Experience
-Associates degree desirable or technical training (or equivalent experience such as military training) preferred
-2-3 years of related operations experience
