Production Technician

Responsibilities:

-Production Technician to cover the operation and maintenance of the Union City, TN and Robinson, IL HPNs
-Meets or exceeds the company’s safety goals, standards and policies
-Fully supports, instills, and reinforces corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental policies / procedures and relevant documentation at the facility
-Assists and supports Facility Manger in maintaining responsibility for a safe & efficient operating environment at the facilities

• Actively demonstrates identified lead person skill sets in daily operational duties, in addition
-Ensures customer product delivery requirements and pertinent documentation and reporting requirements are satisfactorily being efficiently met
-Coordinates production and maintenance tasks within facility work group without interruption of customer product deliveries

•Assists and works closely with Facility Manager with daily facilities needs including
-Administrative function responsibilities as delegated by Facility Manager
-Facility record keeping and documentation
-Innovations and improvement projects
-On-site contractors and support of Hold Harmless Policies and Procedures
-Customer relations as applicable
-Facility cost control, tracking, and utilization of National Purchasing Agreements
-Acts and assumes key responsibilities of HPN Facility Manager during his/her absence

•Makes certain shift coverage for facility operating requirements are satisfied
-Works with Facility Manager to develop work schedules and operation overage.
-Fills in for vacations and emergency shift relief coverage as situations warrant
-Shares “On-call” responsibilities with Facility Manager as needed

Requirements:

•Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise (demonstrates the skill set/expertise of the PT Mastering Profile in addition to the following Key Skills)
-Leads Safety Meetings
-Trains others to follow safety rules
-Writes and modifies Standard Operating Procedures
-Determines if immediate maintenance action is required and acts appropriately
-Identifies HSE requirements and includes in planned WO’s
-Secures site for WO maintenance per schedule / HSE requirements
-Demonstrates effective communication skills (including writing reports), ability to lead others, and ability to interface with customers
-Performs all jobs in plant or operation, troubleshoots the process, and makes plant decisions
-Performs complex plant functions, including DERIME and warm plant start-up
-Takes initiative to improve facility (i.e. operations, reliability, and cost structure) without direction
-Proposes equipment upgrades and modifications to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, etc.
-Works with vendors and equipment manufacturers to resolve issues
-Directs the work of others
-Performs more challenging light and routine maintenance functions such as instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting
-Troubleshoots PLC, DCS, and other computer interface stations
-Troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates control, valves, pneumatic and electronic control equipment and instruments
-Identifies potential problems from collected data
-Provides leadership at other facilities as well as your own (vacation relief, start-ups, and turnarounds)
-Recommends facility improvements and provides cost justification
-Performs administrative functions, i.e. requisitioning, purchasing & production accounting (closure of PO’s and receiving / time inputting)

•Physical Requirements
-Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
-Must be able to lift 50lbs
-Must be willing to travel as needed

•Education and Experience
-Associates degree desirable or technical training (or equivalent experience) required
-5 years or more of related operations experience
