Cylinder Loader/Sorter

Responsibilities:
•Cylinder loading: Load cylinders on the appropriate route/interbranch truck according to the Air Liquide safe cylinder handling and Code of Services procedures.
•Quality Assurance: Understands and implements required procedures (Standard Operations Instructions) as established in the relevant Quality Manual.
•Safety: Works in a safe manner while filling and handling cylinders at all times. Reports any safety concern to the Team Leader. Isolates equipment for outsiders and other plant personnel.
•Quality Control and Maintenance: Upkeep of cylinders in regard to minor defects, appearance & proper labeling. Sends cylinders with major defects to be repaired. Sends cylinders that need to be repainted. Insures that trucks are loaded in accordance with the load out reports and zone sheets.
•Administration: Reports quantities sorted and variations from schedule. Notes irregularities and serial numbers.
•Process Improvement: Works with his/her team as well as with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the work process.
•Hose Keeping: Maintains a clean work area as well as any other area which may be assigned.
Decision Making:
•Reports any safety concern
•Identifies and analyses the components of a problem
•Decides whether cylinders can be filled based on condition and compliance with standards
Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
•Secondary eduction, and or, combination of education and experience in compressed gases.
•Language and mathematical skills
Physical Requirements:
•Requires walking or standing to a significant degree
•Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally/and or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
•Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
•Ability to read scales and gauges
