Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

As a member of the accounting group, the tax senior accountant will be responsible for:
-Preparing and providing to the g/l accounting team on a monthly basis the journal entries for current and deferred taxes, state taxes and accounting on IRS assessments.

-Coordinating with the tax department to:
oDetermine the effective tax rate,
oAnalyze the components of the deferred tax liability,
oPrepare tax liability rollforward,
oPerform tax proofs,
oBe the liaison between the tax department and the accounting department on tax return information requests.

-During the Target and reforecast processes, with the assistance of the tax department, forecasting tax-related accounts and performing review.

-During year-end audit process, preparing the tax footnotes and answering any question arising from the external auditors.

-Following up on IRS audit requirements and providing support and explanations as requested.

-Performing special projects as requested by management.

The tax senior accountant is also requested to:
-Be current on tax and accounting issues.

-Maintain CPE certification.

-Seek to improve upon existing procedures and implement new procedures that will reduce errors and reduce the time it takes to complete assignments.

-Work independently and complete assignments with little supervision.

-Comply, without exception, with all Air Liquide Human Resource Policy and Procedures.

-Comply, without exception, with all safety regulations and guidelines while on Company or customer property; performs work with the utmost regard for the safety and health of all involved.

Requirements:

-Knowledgeable in all areas of taxation.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills within all levels of the organization.
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
-Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
-Ability to conceptualize and assimilate data.
-Ability to adapt effectively to new and changing environment.
-Ability to present proposals in a clear and concise manner.
-Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
-Knowledge of Oracle would be a plus.

Physical Requirements
-Overtime required primarily during busy time of the year.

Education and Experience
-Bachelor’s Degree in tax, accounting, finance, business or a related field; MBA preferred.
-Minimum of three years in public accounting.
-CPA certification preferred, or CPA eligible.
