Field Service Coordinator, Cryobiology

Responsibilities:

Function:
•Install, place in operation, maintain, inspect, test, trouble-shoot and repair equipment at customer sites to ensure the safe, effective and efficient use of the equipment by the end user.
•Serves as a key point of contact and coordination between the company and the customer to meet all requirements safely, efficiently, and economically.
•Schedule & track Preventative Maintenance (PM) & notify customers of PM due dates
•Maintain inventory of parts for various equipment repair
•Keep service manuals for all equipment
•Have work tickets, tools, manuals and parts in possession when doing fieldwork
•Call in office and Service Manager minimum of 3 times a day for messages
•Complete work tickets (include model and serial numbers for invoicing) after work is performed
•Report the work progress to the Service Manager/ Sales. Rep.
•Insure defective parts are returned to the manufacturer when necessary
•Insure replacement parts are ordered & follow-up w/ cost for work completion time & date
•Assist warehouse person on received freight
•Assist in packaging goods for shipment
•Prepare equipment (put wheels on freezers, test controllers etc.) for shipment
•Contact customers for deliveries
•Make deliveries
•Obtain customer signature on shipping memos for deliveries made
•Pass paperwork for invoicing
•Pickup shipment from vendors, if needed
•Management of spare parts & service related parts
•Responsibility for tools
•Managing PM contracts & time tables
•Service intervals with regards to when the PM is due

Discipline:
•The Field Service discipline within the technical function has a technician performing in the above capacities specifically for Pacific Science / Air Liquide Healthcare applicable equipment including, but not limited to: liquid nitrogen freezers and dewars, mechanical freezers, controlled rate freezers, Biosafety cabinets, laboratory hoods, incubators, piping, low pressure tanks.

Requirements:

-Minimum of 5 yr. diagnostic and repair experience in some or all of the following is required: biotech, clinical/research laboratories, pharma.
-Excellent written/verbal communicator; must deal effectively with internal and external customers
-Skills to prioritize integrated service activities so as to maximize time spent working on equipment at customer locations
-Demonstrated ability to ensure the optimum quantity/quality/cost of service work performed while also:

•Completing paperwork in a timely, accurate and completed fashion
•Providing for the appropriate use of company assets
•securing the necessary documentation of work performed (installations and/or removals)
•Compiling billing information (if applicable) and total related costs of all work performed

Essential Physical Requirements:
•Incumbent may be required to spend a great deal of time on his/her feet, climbing, stooping, turning, lifting up to 50 lb. Must be able to travel with approximately 25% being overnight.
•Willingness to travel to attend training seminars, usually at manufacturers’ locations.
