Responsibilities:
Proposal Development:
•Develop the most competitive technical solution in response to requests from any ALIUS business groups as well as external customer requests in support of the various ALIUS sales groups.
•Participate in customer site visits to adequately develop the proposal and present Air Liquide’s technical abilities.
•Establish the proposed project capital budget, timing of capital expenditures, schedule, and required resources for project implementation.
•Provide the expected and guaranteed utilities for the proposed project.
•Develop the operations and maintenance plan to safely operate and maintain the new facility while still remaining competitive with consensus between the operations and business groups.
•Conduct the Preliminary Risk Identification and, if required, the Preliminary Risk Assessment prior to submittal of the proposal.
•Lead the scenario development (Review A) and the technical solution validation (Review B) for proposals in coordination with the assigned business or sales manager.
•Coordinate with the regulatory groups to determine environmental or local permitting requirements which may impact the cost or schedule
•Provide the technical portion of the customer proposal
•Develop the initial Project Design Basis document
Project Engineering:
•Be a technical resource to the Project Managers, as well as others within ALIUS.
•Assist the Project Managers in the detailed design of projects.
•Develop relationships with the various subject matter experts within WIM, ALPC, ALLI, and ALIUS who may assist in the development and design of new projects.
Requirements:
Skills / Knowledge
•Knowledge of Air Liquide’s available technologies and cost advantages and disadvantages of each
•General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control systems and operation of process equipment utilized in Air Liquide technologies.
•Knowledgeable in federal, state and local regulatory requirements, industry codes and internal standards as they apply to individual projects.
•Ability to perform detailed design engineering calculations
•Ability to develop specifications.
•Ability to plan, organize and execute work with minimal direction
•Ability to manage resources to get projects done on time and on budget.
•Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
•Interface well with others across a wide spectrum of experience and technical disciplines and convey a professional image to clients and colleagues.
•General knowledge of project management tools and techniques, such as scope definition and changes, project scheduling, critical path, estimating, budgeting, reporting, and cost control.
•Familiarity with vendors and suppliers of process equipment and services.
•Proficient in the following programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Project, and (preferred) Autocad and Access
Physical Requirements
•Must be willing to travel at short notice
•Able to work around process equipment in the field.
•Able to wear Personal Protection Equipment.
Educational / Experience
•A minimum 10 years of technical experience
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent
•Licensed Professional Engineer a plus
