Dry Ice Technician

Responsibilities:

-Perform ice plant startups and shutdowns
-Must be safety minded and modeling good safety practice
-Words safely in all situations
-Performs all assigned work in compliance with Standard Operating and Maintenance Procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including , safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDL’s, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc.
-Must be able to learn and follow Air Liquide Standard Operating Procedures, follow through on instructions, work with minimal supervision, perform light and routines maintenance, perform basic math operations, and keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures
-Identify potential maintenance and repair needs and communicate them to the Production Technician
-Must be able to work with minimal supervision on an 8 hour rotating shift schedule
-Must be comfortable working around process plant equipment, conveyors and machinery
-Forklift experience/certification and knowledge of handling of hazardous materials preferred

Requirements:

-Must be able to lift up to 60 lb blocks of CO2 ice continuously on an 8 hour shift
-Must be able to operate forklift, wash boxes and manage pellet CO2 ice production continuously on an 8 hour shift
-Demonstrates ability to communicate with both written and spoken English at the 12th grade level
-Exhibits mechanical ability
-Related warehouse operations experience is a plus
-Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots (metatarsal) and cotton clothing
-Must be willing to follow policies and procedures on proper notification procedures for vacation scheduling, floating holidays, and personal days off
-Flexible to support filling in for vacations and emergency shift relief coverage as situations warrant
